Youth Hostels

Youth Hostels Association

YHA England & Wales offers a warm welcome, comfortable bunk rooms, usually with no more than six beds to a room, good food and affordable prices. Whether you want the comfort of an en suite room in a city centre, or the chance to escape the crowds and enjoy simpler accommodation, there's somewhere for you. Youth hostel staff are happy to share their local knowledge to help you to get the most from your holiday. The friendly, informal atmosphere makes for a sociable experience, so whatever your age and interests Youth Hostels are a great place to stay.

About the YHA

YHA (England & Wales) is part of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF) - the largest budget accommodation network in the world! YHA aims to offer secure, comfortable and welcoming accommodation at low prices, suitable for individuals, families or groups exploring the countryside, taking part in educational activities or visiting heritage cities. YHA is a registered charity and any surpluses earned on its operations are reinvested in the hostel network - providing further improvements to existing hostels or opening new ones.

YHA objectives
"To help all, especially young people of limited means, to a greater knowledge, love and care of the countryside, particularly by providing hostels or other simple accommodation for them in their travels, and thus to promote their health, rest and education."

How to join the YHA
